We only rent if you have a current German ID card (Personalausweis) with a current address in Germany on the ID card. Alternatively, you can get a residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) with a current address in Germany on it. A foreign passport, a passport (Reisepass) or a confirmation of registration (Meldebestätigung) is not sufficient.
